The Practice of Raja Yoga
Raja Yoga is the "royal" or "classical" method of yoga. It follows Patanjali's 8-Limb Path as a guide for reaching enlightenment. Following the Raja path is meant to lead the practitioner to bliss and contentment. This class will explore the details of Raja Yoga, the 8 Limbs, and will include an Ashtanga (eight limb yoga) inspired asana (physical) practice.
Saturday, October 12th 9-10:30am
The Elemental Body
This class will explore the elements that make up nature in order to bring our bodies into balance and honor the core of creation. We will use asana (posture practice), hastabhinaya (storytelling using the hands), and mantra to reflect the light of the universe within.
Sunday, October 13th 9-10:30am
Understanding the Koshas
Koshas or "Sheaths" refer to the layers that make up our being and encase our soul. We will explore each Kosha, how they relate to one another and how we can engage with, awaken, and balance our entire being through posture practice, breath work, mantra, and stillness.
